The Chicago Bulls earned their first win of the season against the Atlanta Hawks, 91-86

The Chicago Bulls were hoping to avoid a 0-4 slump as they hosted the 1-3 Atlanta Hawks at the United Center.  The Hawks, on the other hand, tried to avoid their fourth straight loss of the season as they took on the Bulls in the first of three matchups.  The Atlanta Hawks would start the game off right as they shot forty percent from the field while holding the Bulls to thirty-six percent.

Robin Lopez would get hot for ten points as he shot fifty percent from the field in the twelve minutes that he played.  He grabbed one offensive rebound and one defensive rebound while rookie forward Lauri Markkanen would drill a three-pointer and collect three defensive rebounds.  Denzel Valentine was held scoreless in the nine minutes that he played but did manage to get ahold of one offensive rebound and four defensive rebounds.

As for the Georgia team, 2014 NBA Champion Marco Belinelli would come off of the bench to knock down two three-pointers while dishing off one assist.  Taurean Prince ended up being held to just one three-pointer in the nine minutes that he played while Isaiah Taylor came off the bench to drop a three-pointer.  Mike Muscala recorded two points, two offensive rebounds, and four defensive rebounds as the Hawks ended the first quarter with a 20 to 18 lead.

The second quarter would be held closely as the Atlanta Hawks shot forty percent from the field while the Chicago Bulls shot thirty-six percent.  Kent Bazemore shot thirty-three percent in the six minutes he played as he scored five points, three coming from the three-point line.  He also grabbed two defensive rebounds while Muscala scored four points which would include two free-throws.  Belinelli would also be held to four points as Utah-native John Collins came off of the bench to record two points, one offensive rebound, and two defensive rebounds.

On the other of the court, David Nwaba shot fifty percent from the field while putting up five points, one offensive rebound, and three defensive rebounds.  Former Knicks center Robin Lopez ended up with four points and three offensive rebounds while shooting sixty-seven percent from the field.  Jerian Grant would be held to only one free-throw in the ten minutes that he played but he did manage to record two defensive rebounds and two assists as the Hawks went into halftime with a tight 39 to 37 lead.

The Bulls went on a 28 to 20 run in the third period as they shot forty percent from the field but the Hawks still shot forty-one percent from the field.  Markkanen chalked up seven points on seventy-five percent shooting from the field while collecting one offensive rebound and three defensive rebounds.  Former Golden State Warriors’ shooting guard Justin Holiday scored seven points which would include one three-pointer.  He also collected two offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds while Grant recorded five points, two rebounds, and four assists.

As for the visiting team, John Collins would come off of the bench to put up seven points in the eight minutes that he played.  Bazemore would continue to contribute as he chalked up four points on forty percent shooting from the field.  Maryland-native Malcolm Delaney would also end up with four points while Mike Muscala knocked down a three-pointer.  Isaiah Taylor would be scoreless in the five minutes that he played off of the bench but he did manage to grab one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds.  Dewayne Dedmon was also kept scoreless as he grabbed two defensive rebounds but it was the Bulls who gained the lead and ended the third quarter with a 65-59 advantage.

The Hawks attempted to come back in the fourth period as they shot forty-eight percent from the field while keeping the Chicago Bulls to thirty-three percent.  Marco Belinelli would continue to contribute as he gets hot for eleven points, earning nine of those points from beyond the arc.  Muscala chalked up five more points while getting ahold of two offensive rebounds and one defensive rebound.  He also connected for a three-pointer while Delaney recorded two points and three assists.

The Bulls would close things out as Valentine warmed up for seven points while shooting only twenty-nine percent from the field.  He did knock down a three-pointer in the process while Nwaba collected six points and two defensive rebounds.  Grant scored five points while Lauri Markkanen collected one three-pointer, one free-throw, and four defensive rebounds.  Quincy Pondexter came off the bench only to be held scoreless but he would grab three rebounds as the Chicago Bulls pull out a 91-86 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.  Robin Lopez finished with sixteen points, eight rebounds, and four assists while Marco Belinelli ended up finishing with twenty-three points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Last night’s matchup between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder would mark the first time that Paul George would play against his former team since the trade.  During the seven seasons that he played with Indiana, he averaged eighteen points a game, six rebounds a game and two assists a game.  The Thunder would look to avoid their third straight loss as they hosted the 2-2 Indiana Pacers at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Oklahoma City Thunder would shoot a high fifty-two percent from the field while limiting the visiting team to thirty-eight percent.  Steven Adams scored seven points in the eight minutes that he played as he shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  Russell Westbrook would play ten minutes while recording six points, earning three of them from beyond the arc.  He also chalked up three defensive rebounds and six assists while Paul George shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field, giving himself four points.  Anthony would record four points while pulling down five defensive rebounds.

As for the Pacers, Victor Oladipo would get hot for fourteen points while shooting seventy-one percent from the field.  He ended up knocking down two three-pointers in the process of doing so.  Darren Collison would put up five points which included one three-pointer while Thaddeus Young drilled a three-pointer to go along with fifty percent shooting from the field.  Lance Stephenson came off the bench to score three points and pull down two defensive rebounds as the Thunder headed into the second quarter with a 30 to 27 lead.

During the second quarter, the home team shot forty-one percent from the field while the Pacers were held to twenty-nine percent.  Former Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony got hot for eleven points as he shot fifty-seven percent from the field.  He would connect for two three-pointers in the process of it, along with two defensive rebounds.  Westbrook recorded five more points while grabbing two defensive rebounds and giving out four assists.  Paul George would be held to two points while Raymond Felton came off the bench, only to be held to two points as well.

On the other end of the floor, Young ended up shooting sixty percent from the field while dropping eight points.  Oladipo would collect seven more points to add to his stat sheet while hitting a three-pointer in the process of doing it.  Collison was held to only four free-throws but did manage to post up two defensive rebounds and one assist.  Al Jefferson and Lance Stephenson would be held scoreless off the bench as the Oklahoma team headed into the locker room with a 54 to 48 advantage.

The Thunder went on a 32 to 26 run in the third as they shot forty-six percent from the field, holding the visiting team to thirty-two percent.  Russell Westbrook would start to heat up as he shot seventy-one percent from the field, scoring eleven points with three coming from behind the arc.  He also recorded one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, and three assists in the nine minutes that he played.  Anthony shot fifty percent from the field while earning seven points in return, including one three-pointer.  He also collected two defensive rebounds as Steven Adams dropped four points and three offensive rebounds.  Paul George would play for four minutes just to be held to two points.

Darren Collison shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field as dropped seven points and committed two steals.  Victor Oladipo played for eleven minutes as he is limited to only six points but he would manage to get ahold of two defensive rebounds.  Cory Joseph would score four points coming off of the Pacers’ bench but two of those points came from the charity stripe.  Domantas Sabonis would be held to only two points in the nine minutes that he played but grabbed six offensive rebounds as the third period came to an end with an 86-74 score in the Thunder’s favor.

The Oklahoma City Thunder closed things out in the last quarter as they fifty-five percent from the field, holding the Indiana team to thirty-three percent.  Felton would come off of the Thunder bench to post up seven points while shooting seventy-five percent from the field.  He ended up dropping a three-pointer in the process while Anthony would put up six points.  Westbrook ended up scoring four points as he pulled down two defensive rebounds and dished off three assists.  George would be held to two points in the last quarter while Adams gobbled up five rebounds.

As for the Pacers, Oladipo would continue to contribute with eight more points, earning six of them from beyond the arc.  Thaddeus Young chalked up three points while earning one offensive rebound and one defensive rebound.  Sabonis played for five minutes as he recorded two points and two defensive rebounds but it wouldn’t be enough as the Oklahoma City Thunder easily hand the Indiana Pacers a 114 to 96 loss.  Russell Westbrook finished with twenty-eight points, ten rebounds, and sixteen assists.  Paul George would finish with a career-low ten points against his former team, along with one rebound.  Victor Oladipo ended up finishing with thirty-five points and five rebounds.

The Lakers are in the midst of rebuilding their franchise in hopes that Lonzo Ball would bring good things to the city of Los Angeles.  They would hope to avoid a second straight loss as they hosted the 3-0 Washington Wizards at the Staples Center.  During the first quarter of the game, the Lakers a high fifty-two percent from the field while limiting the visiting team to thirty-nine percent.

Larry Nance would score six points and pull down six rebounds while shooting seventy-five percent from the field.  Brandon Ingram ended up being limited to only four points but did manage to grab two defensive rebounds and dish off two assists.  Lonzo Ball would be held scoreless in the seven minutes that he played but did record three defensive rebounds and one assist.

On the other end of the court, Bradley Beal dropped seven points which would include one three-pointer.  Kelly Oubre scored only four points while shooting forty percent from the field.  Otto Porter, John Wall, and Mike Scott would each be held to just two points while Marcin Gortat was kept to just one free-throw.  Gortat did manage to grab four defensive rebounds but it was the Lakers who ended the first quarter with a 23 to 18 lead.

The Wizards responded with a 31 to 22 run in the second period as they shot forty-six percent from the field while the Los Angeles team shot forty-five percent.  Nance would continue to impress as he posts up eight more points while shooting a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  He also gobbled up three defensive rebounds while rookie forward Kyle Kuzma came off of the bench to drop four points.  Jordan Clarkson would come off of the bench to record a three-pointer and three assists while Ball was still held scoreless.

As for the Washington Wizards, Jodie Meeks came off of the bench to chalk up eight points while shooting seventy-five percent from the field.  Six of those points would come from behind the three-point line as he pulled down two defensive rebounds.  Porter scored six points while shooting only forty-three percent from the field but he did manage to get ahold of two defensive rebounds.  Beal and Wall would each be held to two points as the Wizards went into the locker room with a slight 49-45 lead.

During the third quarter, the Washington Wizards shot a high sixty-one percent from the field while limiting the Los Angeles Lakers to only forty-four percent.  John Wall would start to heat up as he dropped ten points while shooting seventy-five percent from the field.  He connected for a three-pointer while doing so, along with dishing off four assists.  Bradley Beal ended up recording nine points to add to his scoring total, three of those points coming from beyond the arc.  He also gobbled up two defensive rebounds while Marcin Gortat shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field, scoring six points.

Brook Lopez would post up seven points as he shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  He would drill a three-pointer in the process of doing so while Ingram would be held to four points.  Lonzo Ball would pull himself out of the scoring drought he was in as he chalked up two points to add to the three assists that he recorded.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope would be held to just one free-throw line but did manage to grab two defensive rebounds as the visiting team went into the last quarter with a 79 to 69 advantage.

The Lakers did pull back, though, in the fourth period as they went on a 23 to 13 run.  They shot thirty-six percent from the field while limiting the Wizards to a low twenty-two percent.  Brandon Ingram would heat up for eleven points and six rebounds while shooting sixty-three percent from the field.  Kuzma would play for the entire quarter but was only held to four points as he grabbed two defensive rebounds.  Lonzo Ball would only score two points, which would all come from the charity stripe as Julius Randle pulled down five defensive rebounds.

For the Nation’s Capital team, Gortat recorded four points while collecting five defensive rebounds in the process.  Beal ended up with the only three points while John Wall was held scoreless in the eight minutes that he played.  With the Wizards up by two points, Ingram would put in a tip shot with one second left to tie the game at 92, sending it into overtime.  The Lakers would end up pulling it out in the extra quarter as they shot fifty percent from the field, holding the Wizards to thirty-eight percent.

Lonzo Ball ended up scoring two points in the quarter while Randle gobbled up two defensive rebounds.  Bradley Beal dropped five points while John Wall was limited to two.  Oubre, Gortat, and Porter were held scoreless in overtime as the Los Angeles Lakers pulled away with a 102 to 99 victory over the Washington Wizards, handing them their first loss of the season.  Brandon Ingram finished the game with nineteen points, ten rebounds (which matched his career-high) and three assists.  Bradley Beal would finish with twenty-eight points, six rebounds, and two assists.

The Brooklyn Nets would be without D’Angelo Russell (23.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 5.5 APG) and Sean Kilpatrick (12.2 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 1.8 APG) for Wednesday’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.  They would hope to avoid their second straight loss as they hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Barclays Center.

During the first quarter of the game, the Cavaliers would shoot forty-one percent from the field while the Nets shot forty percent.  LeBron James shot fifty percent from the field while scoring eight points and collecting three defensive rebounds.  Kevin Love would also shoot fifty percent from the field as he dropped five points, collecting three of those points from beyond the arc.  He also pulled down one offensive rebound and three defensive rebounds while Kyle Korver came off of the bench to knock down a three-pointer.

As for the Nets, DeMarre Carroll shot seventy-five percent from the field as he chalked up eight points.  He would knock down two three-pointers in the process of doing so, along with two defensive rebounds.  Former Portland Trail Blazers’ shooting guard Allen Crabbe came off of the bench to chalk up five points as Trevor Booker would come off the bench to record two defensive rebounds and three assists.  Spencer Dinwiddie was limited to four points in the nine minutes that he played as the Brooklyn team ended the first quarter with a 26 to 23 lead.

The Cavaliers would shoot fifty-nine percent from the field in the second period while the Brooklyn Nets were limited to thirty-eight percent.  Jeff Green came off of the Cleveland bench to chalk up nine points as he shot seventy-five percent from the field.  He would collect six of those points from the three-point line as James scored six points and dished off five assists.  Korver would also chalk up six points, earning three of them from beyond the arc while Love gobbled up three defensive rebounds.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson would put up seven points while shooting only twenty percent from the field.  He would earn three of those points from beyond the arc and the other four from the free-throw line.  Carroll continued to contribute as he recorded six more points while Dinwiddie knocked down two three-pointers to give himself six points while collecting two defensive rebounds.  Booker would be held to only two points but managed to grab three offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds as the Nets went into halftime with a slight 55-52 lead.

The New York team went on a 29 to 21 run in the third quarter as they shot forty-eight percent from the field, limiting the visiting team to forty-two percent.  Crabbe would come off the bench to drop nine more points which would all be earned from the three-point line.  Hollis-Jefferson would drop nine points, as well, while connecting for a three-pointer in the process.  He also pulled down two offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds while former Cavs’ guard Joe Harris came off the bench to drop a three-pointer.  Quincy Acy would be held scoreless in the six minutes he played but did manage to get ahold of three rebounds.

Smith and Channing Frye would put up two points each.  Tristan Thompson was held scoreless but did manage to grab four defensive rebounds as the Nets went into the fourth period with an 84 to 73 lead.

The Cavaliers would respond with a run of their own in the last quarter, shooting fifty percent from the field while keeping the Nets at forty-seven percent.  LeBron James would continue to contribute with ten more points while shooting eighty-three percent from the field.  He would also grab four defensive rebounds while dishing off five assists in the process.  Korver scored nine points which would all come from beyond the arc.

On the other end of the court, Spencer Dinwiddie ended up dropping ten points to add to his scoring total while recording one defensive rebound and three assists.  Carroll would knock down a three-pointer and a free-throw in the quarter while grabbing three defensive rebounds.  Harris would come off the bench to nail a three-pointer as the Nets escaped with a 112-107 victory over the Cavs.  Spencer Dinwiddie finished with a career-high twenty-two points, along with five rebounds, and six assists.  LeBron James would finish with twenty-nine points, ten rebounds, and thirteen assists.

The Clippers earn their third straight win against the Jazz, 102 to 84

The Los Angeles Clippers would seek their third straight win as they hosted the Utah Jazz at the Staples Center, who were looking for their second straight win.  This game would mark the first of four matchups between these two teams.  The Clippers and Jazz met up in the first round of the playoffs last season as the Jazz defeated the California team, 4-3.  The Clippers, who are now without Chris Paul, would seek revenge last night.

The Utah Jazz shot forty-three percent from the field in the first quarter as the Los Angeles Clippers shot forty percent.  Ricky Rubio would score eight points while shooting sixty-seven percent from the field.  He would also collect one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds while Joe Ingles connected for a three-pointer.  Alec Burks came off the Utah bench to hit a three-pointer as well but he also pulled down two defensive rebounds.

On the other end of the court, Patrick Beverley would also earn eight points with six of those points coming from beyond the arc.  Blake Griffin would contribute with seven points while knocking down a three-pointer in the process of doing so.  Danilo Gallinari ended up with four points and two rebounds as the Clippers ended the first quarter with a 27 to 20 lead.

The Utah team would go on a 21 to 15 run in the second period as they shot thirty-nine percent from the field, limiting the Clippers to thirty-five percent.  2009-2010 All-Defensive Player Thabo Sefolosha would come off of the bench to drop points while shooting sixty-seven percent from the field.  He would knock down a three-pointer while doing so as well as collecting four defensive rebounds.  Joe Johnson would come off the bench to also shoot sixty-seven percent from the field but would only score four points.  Rudy Gobert was limited to three points in the quarter while Derrick Favors and Donovan Mitchell were held to two points.

As for the Clippers, Gallinari would shoot only thirty-three percent from the field while collecting four points.  He also gobbled up two defensive rebounds while Austin Rivers would drill a three-pointer.  Blake Griffin ended up with two points in the seven minutes that he played while DeAndre Jordan received two points, two offensive rebounds, and five defensive rebounds.  Beverley would play for the entire quarter, only to be held to two points as the home team would go into halftime with a slight 42-41 lead.

The Clippers would respond in the third quarter with a huge 33 to 15 run, shooting fifty-seven percent from the field while limiting the visiting team to twenty-seven percent from the field.  Griffin would continue to add to his scoring total as he chalks up nine more points, along with five defensive rebounds.  Jordan would shoot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field to earn five points, which would go along with his four rebounds that he collected.  Lou Williams will come off of the bench to earn five points including one three-pointer.

For the Jazz, Gobert would collect nine more points as he shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  He also pulled down three rebounds while Johnson would collect four more points.  Rubio and Favors would be held scoreless throughout this period while Sefolosha would collect four defensive rebounds off of the bench.  Rubio would manage to get off four assists as the Clippers walk into the last quarter with a huge 75 to 56 lead.

The Jazz would shoot sixty-three percent of the field in the last period while the Clippers shot fifty-nine percent from the field.  Mitchell would get hot for fifteen points on the Utah side, which would include three 3-pointers.  Raul Neto came off of the bench to drop five points, earning three of them from beyond the arc as Derrick Favors shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field to earn four points.

The Clippers would finish things off, though, as Griffin drops five points which would include one three-pointer.  Rivers and Beverley would also collect five points each as they both shot sixty-seven percent from the field.  DeAndre Jordan would receive two points and two rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers easily pull away with a 102 to 84 win over the Utah Jazz.  Blake Griffin would finish the game with twenty-two points, nine rebounds, and six assists while Donovan Mitchell finished with nineteen points, two rebounds, and one assist.

The Brooklyn Nets and the Orlando Magic would meet up for the second time this season as the Magic lost the first matchup, 126 to 121.  This time around, the Magic looked for revenge as they hoped to earn their second straight win as the Nets looked for their third straight win.  After this game, there will be two more matchups between these teams as the Magic hosted the Nets at the Amway Center.

The first quarter of the game would be held closely as the Orlando team shot forty-five percent from the field and the Nets shot forty-eight percent.  D’Angelo Russell would heat up for twelve points early, earning all of them from beyond the arc.  Rondae Hollis-Jefferson would shoot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field as he drops four points while Trevor Booker came off the bench to collect three points and two defensive rebounds.  Allen Crabbe would also come off the bench to knock down a three-pointer while collecting one offensive rebound and two assists.

As for the New York team, Hollis-Jefferson started to heat up as he scored ten points, shooting eighty percent from the field.  He also earned two offensive rebounds and two assists while Caris LeVert would collect eight points, knocking down a three-pointer while doing so.  Former Toronto Raptors’ forward DeMarre Carroll ended up with four points which would all be earned from the free-throw line.  Timofey Mozgov would hit a rare three-pointer to give himself three points to go along with his two defensive rebounds as both teams head into the locker room with a 61-61 score at the half.

The Brooklyn Nets would spark a 35 to 26 run in the third quarter as they shot fifty-five percent from the field while limiting the Magic to forty percent.  Aaron Gordon would continue to go off as he chalks up twelve more points while collecting three rebounds.  Fournier would shoot eighty percent from the field while putting up ten points.  Nikola Vucevic ended up recording only two points in the ten minutes that he played but he did pull down three defensive rebounds.

On the other end of the court, DeMarre Carroll would heat up for eleven points, hitting two three-pointers in the process of doing so.  Mozgov shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field while collecting six points and two defensive rebounds.  Spencer Dinwiddie would knock down a jumper along with two free-throws while giving out three assists.  Trevor Booker would collect two points off the bench along with three rebounds as the visiting team ended the third quarter with a 96-87 lead.

The Florida team would respond with a 38 to 25 run in the last quarter as they shot a high sixty percent from the field, limiting the Nets to thirty-two percent.  Evan Fournier ended up dropping twelve points, six coming from beyond the arc and the other six coming from the free-throw line.  Jonathon Simmons would come off of the bench to chalk up seven points while grabbing two defensive rebounds.  Aaron Gordon ended up earning five more points while collecting one offensive rebound and three defensive rebounds.

As for the Nets, Russell scored nine points while shooting a low twenty-nine percent from the field.  He would earn two rebounds while Jarrett Allen chalked up five points while shooting a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  Carroll added four more points to his scoring total while LeVert gobbled up three rebounds to add to his three points and two assists.  Hollis-Jefferson and Booker would each be limited to two points as the Orlando Magic slip away with a 125 to 121 win over the Brooklyn Nets.  Aaron Gordon finished with a career-high forty-one points along with fourteen rebounds, and two assists.  D’Angelo Russell would finish with twenty-nine points, five rebounds, and one assist.

The Chicago Bulls would look to avoid a 0-3 start in this season as they visited Ohio to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Quicken Loans Arena.  The Cavaliers, on the other hand, hoped to avoid a second straight loss as LeBron James and the Cavs host the win-less Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls shot fifty-six percent from the field as a team in the first quarter while the Cavaliers would be limited to forty-eight percent from the field.  Rookie forward Lauri Markkanen ended up getting hot for eleven points as he shot eighty percent from the field, knocking down three 3-pointers in the process.  He would also grab four defensive rebounds as 2015 NBA champion Justin Holiday dropped eight points while shooting only thirty-three percent in the twelve minutes that he played.  Jerian Grant would be limited to only four points as he dished off five assists.

On the other end of the court, LeBron James would go off for twelve points as he shot seventy-one percent from the field in the eleven minutes that he played.  He ended up knocking down two three-pointers in the process of doing so.  Kevin Love shot fifty percent from the field while scoring five points, hitting a three-pointer while doing so.  Love would pull down two defensive rebounds while Jeff Green came off the bench to collect two defensive rebounds as well, along with four points.  Dwyane Wade would come off the bench to score two points as the Bulls would end the first quarter with a 38 to 28 lead.

The Cleveland Cavaliers would go on a 37 to 30 run in the second period as they shot sixty-five percent from the field, limiting the visiting team to forty-six percent.  James would continue to impress as he drops eleven more points while knocking down two three-pointers in the process.  Jeff Green shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field as he scores seven points, earning three of those points from behind the arc.  Love would score five points which would include one three-pointer as he gobbles up three rebounds.  Wade played for nine minutes but would be held to only four points but he did manage to grab three defensive rebounds and give out three assists.

As for the Bulls, former Cavaliers’ point guard Kay Felder would come off the bench to score nine points, earning six of them from beyond the three-point line.  Markkanen dropped six more points which would all be earned from the three-point line as he shot sixty-seven percent from the field.  Paul Zipser would knock down a three-pointer while collecting two defensive rebounds and three assists.  Denzel Valentine would come off of the bench to drill a three-pointer as the Chicago team walked into halftime with a 68-65 lead.

During the third quarter, the Bulls shot forty-seven percent from the field as the Cavs shot forty-five percent.  Holiday would heat up for ten points as he shot sixty percent from the field.  He ended up drilling two three-pointers in the process of doing so while pulling down one defensive rebound.  Valentine would shot fifty percent from the field as he is rewarded with five points, three coming from behind the arc.

On the other end of the floor, former Boston Celtics’ small forward Jae Crowder connected for two three-pointers to give himself six points in the quarter.  Tristan Thompson would end up recording five points while shooting a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  He also managed to get ahold of two offensive rebounds and five defensive rebounds.  Dwyane Wade would record five points while James chalked up four points and three assists.  Love would play for six minutes, only to be held scoreless but he would grab two defensive rebounds as the Illinois team walked into the fourth quarter with a 92 to 91 lead.

The Cavaliers would close things out in the last period as they spark up a 28 to 20 run, shooting forty-five percent from the field, limiting the Chicago Bulls to thirty-eight percent.  Kevin Love would heat up for ten points as he shot forty-three percent from the field.  He would connect for a three-pointer in the process while gobbling up two offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds.  LeBron James ended up shooting forty percent from the field as he scored seven points, along with one defensive rebound and five assists.  Kyle Korver would come off of the bench to knock down two three-pointers.  Smith would play for ten minutes only to be held scoreless but he did manage to collect one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds.

Jerian Grant would score five points, three coming from beyond the arc and two coming from the charity stripe.  He did grab three defensive rebounds and dished off two assists in the process of doing so.  Denzel Valentine ended scoring five points while shooting fifty percent from the field.  He would earn three of those from beyond the arc as Zipser would play for the entire quarter only to be held to four points.  Brazil-native Cristiana Felicio would come off of the bench to score two points and collect two offensive rebounds but it was the Cleveland Cavaliers who come back to hand the Chicago Bulls a 119 to 112 loss.  LeBron James finished with thirty-four points, two rebounds, and thirteen assists.  Justin Holiday would finish with twenty-five points, four rebounds, and one assist.

The Philadelphia 76ers would look to avoid a 0-4 start to the season as they took on the 2-1 Detriot Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena.  During the first quarter of the game, the 76ers shot forty-one percent from the field while limiting the Pistons to thirty-eight percent.  Ben Simmons would heat up for ten points as he shot sixty-seven percent from the field.  He also collected three rebounds and two assists to go along with it.  Joel Embiid ended up shooting seventy-five percent from the field as he dropped nine points which would include one three-pointer.  Robert Covington played for ten minutes as he was limited to only one three-pointer while Amir Johnson would come off the bench to knock down a three-pointer and pull down five rebounds.

As for the home team, Andre Drummond would score seven points as he shot seventy-five percent from the field.  He also went up to grab three offensive rebounds and five defensive rebounds to add to his stat sheet.  Former Milwaukee Bucks’ forward Tobias Harris would only shoot twenty-nine percent from the field as he dropped five points, earning three of them from beyond the arc.  Avery Bradley also connected for one three-pointer as the 76ers ended the first quarter with a 31 to 22 lead.

The 76ers shot fifty percent from the field in the second quarter as the Michigan team would shoot forty-three percent from the field.  Dario Saric came off the 76ers’ bench to put up seven points, hitting a three-pointer in the process of doing so.  Embiid would shoot seventy-five percent from the field as he chalked up six points, along with three defensive rebounds.  Jerryd Bayless ended up connecting for two three-pointers as Simmons would record three more points, along with three defensive rebounds.

On the other end of the court, Reggie Jackson would come alive as he chalked up seven points and four defensive rebounds while shooting fifty percent.  Langston Galloway came off of the bench to knock down two three-pointers to give himself six points.  Ish Smith would also come off of the bench but he would drop four points as the Philadelphia 76ers went into halftime with a 56-43 advantage.

The Detriot Pistons would respond with a 24 to 19 run in the third period as they shot thirty-seven percent from the field.  Drummond ended up scoring seven more points as he pulled down one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds in the eleven minutes he played.  New-guard Avery Bradley would shoot fifty percent from the field but only recorded four points as Harris recorded two points and two defensive rebounds.

The 76ers ended up shooting forty-one percent from the field as a team while Joel Embiid shot a perfect one-hundred percent.  Embiid chalked up eight points in the third quarter while Ben Simmons recorded six points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Covington would play for eight minutes as he knocked down a three-pointer and one free-throw.  He also managed to pull down two offensive rebounds as the visiting team closed the third quarter with a 75 to 67 lead.

The Philadelphia team would finish things off in the last quarter as they shot fifty-four percent from the field, limiting the Pistons to thirty-five percent.  Joel Embiid continued to impress as he chalked up seven more additional points, along with three defensive rebounds.  J.J. Redick would only be limited to two points in the eleven minutes that he played while T.J. McConnell came off the 76ers’ bench to drill a three-pointer.  Simmons recorded two more points, as well as one more rebound and two more assists.

On the other end of the court, Missouri-native Anthony Tolliver would come off of the bench to drop five points, earning three of them from behind the arc.  Bradley ended up shooting fifty percent from the field but was limited to only four points while Andre Drummond collected two more rebounds but it was the Philadelphia 76ers who escaped with a 97 to 86 win over the Detriot Pistons, giving them their first win of the season.  Joel Embiid finished with thirty points and nine rebounds while Ben Simmons ended his first triple-double of his career.  Simmons scored twenty-one points, pulled down twelve rebounds and dished off ten assists.  Reggie Jackson ended up with sixteen points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

Sunday’s matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder is the first of four games that these two teams would play against each other.  Each team is coming off of a game against the Utah Jazz, the Thunder losing to the Jazz as the Timberwolves defeated the Jazz.  The Thunder would hope to avoid their second straight loss as they hosted the Timberwolves at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Timberwolves would shoot fifty-seven percent from the field as a team while limiting the Thunder to forty-six percent.  2015 Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins would drop ten points as he shot sixty-seven percent from the field.  He would connect for a three-pointer while grabbing three defensive rebounds and dishing off two assists.  Taj Gibson ended up shooting seventy-five percent from the field as he scored six points.  Karl-Anthony Towns would be limited to thirty-three percent shooting from the field as he dropped two points but he did manage to get three rebounds.

As for the home team, Steven Adams would shoot eighty percent from the field as he tallies up eight points while grabbing two offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds.  Carmelo Anthony ended up shooting fifty percent from the field as he scored six points.  Paul George would be limited to only four points in the nine minutes that he played but he did manage to pull down two defensive rebounds.  Russell Westbrook only scored two points but he did record one defensive rebound and two assists as the Timberwolves ended the first quarter with a 28 to 23 lead.

During the second period, the Thunder would shoot fifty-seven percent from the field as the Minnesota team shot fifty-two percent.  South Carolina-native Raymond Felton would come off the bench to put up ten points, six of them coming from beyond the arc.  Westbrook chalked up seven more points while pulling down two defensive rebounds and dishing off two assists.  George and Anthony would be limited to two points each as Steven Adams recorded six points, along with two offensive rebounds and one offensive rebound.

Karl-Anthony Towns would shoot fifty-seven percent from the field as he scored eleven points, adding four rebounds to go along with it.  New-shooting guard Jimmy Butler shot forty percent from the field but was only limited to four points.  Gorgui Dieng would come off of the bench to collect four points for himself.  Gibson would be limited to only a three-pointer but it was still the Timberwolves who entered halftime with a 61 to 54 lead.

The Minnesota team would go on a 27 to 21 run in the third as they shot forty percent from the field, limiting the Thunder to thirty-two percent from the field.  Towns continue to impress as he shoots seventy-five percent from the field, chalking up seven points which would include one three-pointer.  Butler contributed with seven more points which would include three from beyond the arc.  Jeff Teague would collect two defensive rebounds and three assists as Taj Gibson pulled down one offensive rebound and four defensive rebounds.

On the other end of the court, Carmelo Anthony ended up dropping seven points which included one three-pointer.  Westbrook would shoot sixty percent from the field as he gets seven points, as well, along with one defensive rebound and three assists.  Paul George would put up five points as he shots only thirty-three percent from the field.  Steven Adams would be held scoreless but he would manage to gobble up three offensive rebounds and one defensive rebound as the Minnesota Timberwolves went into the last quarter with an 88-75 advantage.

The Oklahoma team would respond with a huge 38 to 27 run in the fourth quarter as they shot fifty-six percent from the field.  The Timberwolves ended up shooting fifty percent from the field as Andrew Wiggins dropped twelve points while grabbing one offensive rebound and one defensive rebound.  Karl-Anthony Towns would contribute with seven points as he shot a perfect one-hundred percent from the field.  He would also connect for a three-pointer in the process while Butler would be limited to two points.

With thirty seconds left in the quarter, Westbrook would nail a three-pointer to tie the game up at 110 apiece.  Towns would then take the ball and drive towards the basket to put in a layup, giving the visiting team a two-point lead.  Out of a Thunder timeout, Carmelo Anthony would connect for a three-point jump shot to give the Thunder a one-point lead.  But it was Wiggins who took the ball across the court to knock down a three-pointer, giving the Minnesota Timberwolves a 115 to 113 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Karl-Anthony Towns finished the game with twenty-seven points, twelve rebounds, and one assist.  Andrew Wiggins would also finish with twenty-seven points, along with seven rebounds and four assists.  Russell Westbrook ended up with thirty-one points, five rebounds and ten assists.

The San Antonio Spurs are coming fresh off a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves as they visited Illinois to take on the Chicago Bulls, who are hoping to avoid a 0-2 start in the season.  The Spurs are currently without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker while the Bulls are without Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis.  This matchup would mark the first of two games that these two teams will play against each other.

The first quarter would be held closely as the Bulls shot thirty-eight percent from the field while the Spurs would shoot thirty-two percent from the field.  LaMarcus Aldridge ended up scoring eight points as he shot forty-three percent from the field.  He would jump up to grab two offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds as Pau Gasol would be limited to four points.  Patty Mills chalked up two points as he crashed the boards for two rebounds.

As for the Chicago team, Robin Lopez would also record eight points as he shot sixty-seven percent from the field.  He would also gather up two offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds to add to his game.  Former Golden State Warriors’ shooting guard Justin Holiday also collect eight points as he shot only thirty-three percent from the field.  Paul Zipser would be held scoreless in the eleven minutes that he played but he did manage to grab three defensive rebounds as the Bulls ended the first quarter with a 21 to 19 lead.

The San Antonio Spurs would shoot fifty percent from the field, limiting the Chicago Bulls to only thirty-seven percent.  New York-native Rudy Gay would come off of the Spurs bench to put up six points while collecting two defensive rebounds.  Former Portland Trail Blazers’ power forward LaMarcus Aldridge would put up four points while pulling down two defensive rebounds.  Pau Gasol ended up scoring three points while gobbling up three defensive rebounds and dishing off two assists.

On the other end of the floor, Markkanen would add five more points to his scoring total with three of them coming from the three-point line.  He would also collect three defensive rebounds while shooting forty percent from the field.  Holiday would connect for a three-pointer and two free-throws to give himself five points while Jerian Grant would be limited to only twenty-nine percent shooting from the field in the ten minutes he played.  California-native David Nwaba would score five points with three coming from the charity but he did manage to grab four defensive rebounds which wouldn’t be enough as the San Antonio Spurs pull away with an 87 to 77 win over the Chicago Bulls.  LaMarcus Aldridge finished the game with twenty-eight points, ten rebounds, and three assists while Robin Lopez would finish with sixteen points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
