The Cleveland Cavaliers are in danger of being on a seven-game losing streak, the longest for them this season. They are coming fresh off of an incredibly huge 141-94 blowout loss they took in the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. The Cavaliers will hope to avoid another loss as they battle the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden tonight.
As for the Celtics, they are coming off a 108-95 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday. They will try to grab a fourth consecutive win tonight against the struggling Cavaliers. This matchup will mark the second of four times that these two teams will meet up this season.
The last time these two ball clubs played each other was on November 5 when the Cavaliers fell to the Celtics, 119-113. During that contest, Gordon Hayward scored 39 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out eight assists while Collin Sexton had 21 points, one rebound, 3 assists, and a block.

The Boston Celtics would have control of the game in the first half as they shot fifty-six percent from the field, limiting the Cavaliers to thirty-eight percent. Jaylen Brown chalked up 14 points while drilling a three-pointer in the second period. He also had five rebounds and two assists while Kemba Walker had 11 points on fifty-percent shooting.
Walker was able to bury two three-pointers in the second quarter while grabbing two rebounds, dishing out four assists, and blocking one shot. Missouri-native Jayson Tatum had eight points to go along with seven rebounds, one assist, and two blocks. Gordon Hayward had four points while missing just one of his three shots attempted. Semi Ojeleye played the most minutes off the bench but only had a trey.
On the other end of the court, Tristan Thompson recorded 11 points to go along with seven rebounds. Kevin Love contributed with five points which included a three-pointer in the second period. Darius Garland and Collin Sexton combined for six points while Cedi Osman had a three-pointer. Former Los Angeles Lakers’ guard Jordon Clarkson played 10 minutes off the bench as he had seven points but it was the home team that went into halftime with a 53-40 advantage.
The Massachusetts ball club would close things out in the second half as they went on a 57-48 run, shooting fifty-nine percent from the field. Both Walker and Tatum earned 11 points each while Hayward had ten points. Walker was able to connect for 3 three-pointers while Tatum had two. Brad Wanamaker played the most minutes off the bench but only had one point.
As for the Ohio team, Thomspon and Love combined for eight points while Sexton had six. Clarkson played 14 minutes off the bench as he chalked up 12 points but it wouldn’t be enough as the Celtics defeated the Cavaliers, 110 to 88. Kemba Walker finished the game with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, and one block while Jordon Clarkson had 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and one steal.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will host James Harden (38.5 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 7.4 APG, 43.1 FG%, 33.9 3P%) and the Houston Rockets (15-7) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. This will make the first of two meetings between these two teams this season.
The Boston Celtics will head to Indianapolis to battle Malcolm Brogdon (19.0 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 7.7 APG, 47.3 FG%, 34.6 3P%) and the Indiana Pacers (15-8) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will mark the first of three matchups between these ball clubs this season.
