The Chicago Bulls take a 1-0 series lead as they beat the Boston Celtics

Today would mark the first game between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls in their Playoffs series.  This will be Dwyane Wade’s first Playoff game as a Bulls player.  But this will be a very emotional game for Isaiah Thomas, who’s younger sister died in a car accident a day ago.  The last time these two teams met up in the postseason was in 2009, resulting in the Bulls getting defeated by the Celtics, 4-3.  The Chicago team is looking to get revenge on the Celtics as each team looks to start the series off right in Boston.

Isaiah Thomas would start off hot in the first quarter as he scores thirteen points, including two 3-pointer.  Avery Bradley would help out his fellow teammate as he would chalk up eight points, including two 3-pointers as well.  On the other end, Robin Lopez would drop ten points, shooting 71% from the field but it was the home team that would enter the second quarter with a 28 to 23 lead.  The visiting team would go on a 25-18 run as three-time champion, Dwyane Wade, earns five points which would contain one 3-pointer.  Arkansas-native Bobby Portis would collect five points, containing one 3-pointer as well.  Former Hawks player, Al Horford, would drop nine points which would hold one 3-pointer but it was the Bulls who went into halftime with a 48-46 lead.  In the third period, Jae Crowder, Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Smart would each score six points. Crowder would shoot 60% from the field while doing so.  Thomas would shoot 66% from the field while pulling down four rebounds.  Smart’s six points would all come from 3-pointers, shooting a perfect 100% from the field.  As for the Illnois team, Jimmy Butler would drop eight points, which included two 3-pointers.  Rajon Rondo would collect six points, three rebounds and three assists as both teams enter the fourth quarter with a 74-74 tied game.  The Chicago Bulls would close things out in the last period as the 2014-2015 Most Improved Player, Jimmy Butler, would light the floor up with fifteen points, including one 3-pointer.  Down the other end of the floor, Isaiah Thomas would drop twelve points but it was the Chicago Bulls that would escape with a 106 to 102 win, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.  Jimmy Butler would finish with thirty points, nine rebounds and three assists.  Isaiah Thomas would end with thirty-three points, five rebounds and six assists.  Dwyane Wade, on the other hand, would end up eleven points, five rebounds and six assists.
