The 42-38 Atlanta Hawks will look to clinch the number five Playoff seed as they take on the 36-45 Charlotte Hornets. These two teams have met up three times this season, making this their fourth and final matchup. The first game was on November 18 in North Carolina as the Hornets would win, 100-96. In that game, Nicolas Batum would score twenty-four points, grab ten rebounds and dish off four assists. Paul Millsap would collect twenty-two points, thirteen rebounds and one assist. The second meeting would take place on December 17 in Georgia as the Hornets would defeat the Hawks, 107 to 99. Marvin Williams would put up nineteen points, six rebounds and two assists. Marco Belinelli would put up nineteen points, three rebounds and one assist. Tim Hardaway Jr. would earn twenty-one points, four rebounds and four assists. The last matchup would be played on March 20 in Charlotte as the home team would win, 105-90. Nicolas Batum would chalk up sixteen points, one rebound and six assists. Kemba Walker would post sixteen points, four rebounds and four assists. Dennis Schroder would chalk up twenty points, three rebounds and six assists. The Charlotte Hornets would look to win the regular season series 4-0 in their season finale.
In the first quarter Dwight Howard would start off hot as he scores ten points and grabs three rebounds. The first round pick in the 2013 draft, Dennis Schroder, would post up six points and dish off four assists. Kent Bazemore would come off the bench to score six points of his own, including two 3-pointers. The second quarter would not become easier for the visiting team as Tim Hardaway Jr. goes 75% from the field, taking seven points which would contain one 3-pointer. Former Thunder player, Jeremy Lamb, would help the Hornets out as he scores eight points, including one 3-pointer but it would be the Georgia team that walks into halftime with a 63-44 advantage. The Hawks would not show any signs of cooling down in the third period as the former Rockets player, Dwight Howard, would add six more points to his scoring numbers, shooting 75% from the field. Texas-native Taurean Prince and Louisiana-native Paul Millsap would each put up four points as the home team would end the third quarter with a 84-61 lead. The Atlanta Hawks would close it out in the last period as Kris Humphries comes off the bench to put up five points, which included one 3-pointer. Thabo Sefolosha and Malcolm Delaney would come off the bench, as well, to drop four points each as the Hawks seal the deal with a huge 103-76 victory. Dwight Howard finished with nineteen points, twelve rebounds and one assist. Jeremy Lamb would finish with twenty-one points, five rebounds and one assist.
