The 36-42 Charlotte Hornets are hoping that things will turn around for the better as they struggle to make the Playoffs for a second consecutive season. Tonight they will be going up against the 50-29 Boston Celtics are the fourth and final time this season. The first time these two ball clubs have met up was on October 29 in North Carolina as Boston would take that game 104-98. In that game, Avery Bradley would end with thirty-one points, eleven rebounds and four assists. Kemba Walker finished with twenty-nine points, two rebounds and three assists. In the second game, which took place on December 16 in Massachusetts, the home team would win that game, 96 to 88. Isaiah Thomas would score twenty-six points, grab three rebounds and earn five assists. Nicolas Batum would go to score twenty-two points, grab 10 rebounds and dish off five assists. The last time the Celtics and Hornets met up was on January 16 in TD Garden, where the Celtics won 108 to 98. Isaiah Thomas would earn thirty-five points, five rebounds and four assists. Kemba Walker earned twenty-four points, four rebounds and two assists. The 2-seed Boston Celtics would look to take the regular season, 4-0, against the 10-seed Charlotte Hornets.
In the first quarter, Isaiah Thomas would start off with eight points, including one 3-pointer. Jae Crowder would also score seven points, as well as one 3-pointer. Even though Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum would each earn seven points, it would be Boston who leads 32-28 at the end of the first. The second quarter wouldn’t get easier for the home teams as both Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford would come out hot, each scoring eleven points. Thomas would knock down three more 3-pointers as Horford goes 1 for 2 beyond the arc. Kemba Walker would go to score seven points for his team but it would be the Celtics who end the second period with a huge 39-26 run. With the Celtics holding on to a 71-54, the home team would go on a 32 to 21 run as Nicolas Batum goes off for eleven points which would contain one 3-pointer, as well. Cody Zeller would help out as he goes to hit six points, along with Walker who scores six of his own. On the other end, Kelly Olynyk would score six points to help Boston out but the Hornets would still come within seven points as the visiting team leads 92-86 at the end of the third. The Boston Celtics would close it out in the fourth as Avery Bradley puts up eleven points, including three 3-pointers. Nicolas Batum would collect eight for Charlotte but the Celtics would win, 121-114, eliminating the Charlotte Hornets from the Playoffs. Isaiah Thomas would finish the game with thirty-two points, two rebounds and six assists. Nicolas Batum would end up with thirty-one points, eight rebounds and three assists.
